Erlandsen Data Consulting: "Autoscaling fonts in charts
When you create a new chart in Excel most elements in the chart will have the font autoscale property activated.
This is for many a really annoying setting.
To disable this behavior you can make a change to the Registry:
Navigate to the following location in the Registry (depending on your Office version):
Office 97: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Excel\Microsoft Excel
Office 2000: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Excel\Options
Office XP (2002): HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Excel\Options
Office 2003: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Options
Add a new key of the type DWORD that you name AutoChartFontScaling.
Set the Value Data to '0' (zero)
Note!"
